Quinn Shurtliff, Ph.D., is a wildlife biologist and certified conservation planning coach who helps individuals and teams understand and implement the Conservation Standards to improve conservation practice. Quinn has worked previously for the Wildlife Conservation Society and three private consulting companies. Since 2011, he has relied on the Conservation Standards in his day-to-day work to conserve greater sage-grouse and other sagebrush steppe species on a southern Idaho landscape. In 2012, Quinn received advanced coach training to learn how to teach the Conservation Standards. In the past 10 years, he has trained over 500 individuals from five continents and facilitated or co-facilitated 22 virtual and in-person workshop series ranging from 3-hour crash-course introductions to multi-month strategic planning processes. Clients of trainings and process facilitation include the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Navy, Texas Wildlife Association, Puget Sound Partnership, New England Aquarium, DAI, and Texas Chapter of The Wildlife Association.
